The 17U RVC Rebels, qualified for the top tier at this year's SVA provincial championships after knocking off one of the top teams in the province and then losing out in a close match to the eventual Provincial Champions, Wakaw Warriors, to place Tier 1 - 5th.
The Rebels peaked at just the precise time, to play their best volleyball of the year. The tournament started off well with the Rebels knocking off arguably the strongest team in the pool handily moving on to a second place finish in round robin play. In the re-pool the Rebels continued their strong play and again finished second in their pool to the eventual tournament champions. Setting up a critical match with a very strong Huskie’s United team to move into the medal round. Strong play by Britanny Brodt and Amy Eklund helped the Rebels stay close, and strong supporting roles by Candace Reiter and the Rebels Libero, playing her best volleyball of the year, Michelle Pugsley all helped the team stick with the United team keeping the outcome up in the air until the bitter end.
The Rebels would like to take this opportunity to thank the RVC club for its support throughout the year and all of the parents and volunteers who have put in countless hours to help all of our athletes be the best they can be... because of all of this help all of our athlete’s can say they are better now than they were at the beginning of the year... which is our true guide for success!
