RVC is holding the Players Edge Volleyball Camp in August (Tues, Wed, Thurs) for girls going into Grades 7 to 12. The sessions run from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Laval school and the main focus will be on skill development. Athletes will be led by nationally certified coaches and will work on building on their strengths and improving weaknesses in order to execute superior techniques while playing volleyball. Volleyball Officials - Info and Reference

There's nothing like having officials working a match that are knowledgeable and decisive...and RVC parents are among the best. As a parent, it's great to get involved - at court level - with your player's match. It's fun and not hard - plan now to help out.

The SVA is always looking for people to become referees. Officials are an integral part of volleyball. And players - it's a great way to make some money - contact the SVA for more info.                  Minor Official Notes for Parents     Scoresheet (with notes)

2013 Age-class Season Now Underway

RVC and our volunteer coaches are excited to again offer great opportunities in our competitive age-class volleyball program to athletes from the very elite to those just starting out. RVC is the longest continuously operating volleyball club in the Regina area for a reason. Our programs are second to none and have been adopted over the years by other newer clubs throughout the province. RVC operates as a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors elected by our members. We strive to provide support to our teams, our families and our coaches while allowing flexibility appropriate to each team's situation - we work hard to ensure that each member of our club has a good experience. We encourage you to ask questions and provide feedback - before tryouts, during and all through the season - and for those who may be new to RVC, we hope you take a look through this website to find out more about us.

Our second and final team selection camp was held on Dec 1st and our teams have been determined. If you missed tryouts and would still like to be considered for an RVC team, please contact us.

Registration for Nationals Opens in January

Coming up in May 2013 are the Volleyball Canada national championships. Many RVC teams will be registering for nationals so they can gain experience competing against the best teams from across Canada.

We're very excited to have Regina hosting the 15U Nationals for the first time. Sask Volleyball has put on many excellent 14U championships in Saskatoon in the past - and now it's our tour. Sask Volleyball has put together a committee for these hometown nationals and they'll definitely be looking for more volunteers to help out.

While this year Volleyball Canada has separated the 15U and 16U championships, it is still important for RVC teams to determine their plans early in January so they can register and not be disappointed if a championship fills up. While attending nationals is not appropriate for every RVC team (due to the cost of travel to BC or Alberta) - it is an exciting and worthwhile event to take part in - to finish off our season and to measure yourself against the best in Canada.

Make sure to visit the Volleyball Canada’s website (www.volleyball.ca)  to get all 2013 updates, championship information - and to register.

Be a Leader! Coaches & Volunteers Needed

If you love the game of Volleyball and are passionate about being involved in the development of great young people, we would love to hear from you! RVC is looking for a few good people to join our club to help with our developmental and recreational programs - and with our age-class competitive program.  If you - or someone you know - may be interested, please contact our Coach Liaison Jakaeden Frizzell for more information. All training is provided...and there are a number of commitment levels to fit your schedule.

And of course, we couldn't do it without the many volunteers who contribute their time and effort to benefit everyone - from project coordinators to team managers.  Come join the fun!

RVC Awards Night & Annual General Meeting

RVC held its annual Awards Night and Annual General Meeting on May 24th at the Glen Cairn Rec Centre. Congratulations to all our age-class team all-stars and to Coach of the Year recipient Patrick Lys, and Coaching Excellence Award winner Mike Boyd. Unlike some other clubs, RVC is member-driven and our membership takes this opportunity to approve audited financial statements, elect our board of directors and have the open forum to ask questions and provide comments. Special thanks go to retiring board directors: Maureen Sebastian, Betty Rader, Dennis Ruthven and Mike Boyd. Your years of service are appreciated.
